The Pontian District is a district in southwest Johor, Malaysia. The
name Pontian is also used in the names of two towns in the district, Pontian Besar and Pontian Kechil, of
which the latter serves as its district capital. The capital was formerly a
fishing village which has developed into a small town.
When visiting a local town, the best thing to do is to eat like a local and trying the orginal taste of the foods and the prices are usually cheaper than the city and tourist town.
Whenever I told someone I'm from Pontian, people was like where is Pontian? What to you eat there?

One thing that is a must-try whe in Pontian is the local wantoo mee. It's very different from other town, Pontian-style wanton mee uses tomato sauce to mix its noodle and topped with thinly sliced barbecue pork and apart from just meat dumplings in the soup, they add fish balls too. Personally, i like the red chili sauce and the noodle is not too wet.
